Tom has been in the Automotive Service and Repair industry since 1966. Tom’s automotive career began at the corner service station during his high school days in Utica Michigan. Tom’s career continued at a Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury dealership in Mt. Clemens, MI where he worked as a technician. By 1980 Tom had decided that he would seek out a home away from the harsh Michigan winters and moved to Bisbee Arizona. In 1982 Tom opened Warren Service Center in the Warren suburb of Bisbee. For over 28 years, Tom served the Bisbee community with honest and professional automotive service and repair. In June 2010 Chelsea and the Team at Desert Automotive proudly welcomed Tom and his many long term clients that travel daily from Bisbee area to have their vehicles serviced and repaired.

Tom spends most of his spare time with his family, wife Sue, and three children. On a few occasions every year Tom finds time to pursue his passion of drag racing. Tom competes mostly in Tucson with his supercharged tube chassis Vega. All in all Tom is just one of those honest low maintenance guys that everyone loves to have around.

Gary Kyte has lived in this area for fifty years and has been in the local automotive scene for the past thirty. Gary graduated from Arizona Automotive Institute in 1981 and went to work as a technician here in town at Star Chevrolet. The first ten years of Gary’s automotive career were spent as a technician and even though it has been over twenty years since he has earned his living spinning wrenches he is still a certified ASE Master Technician. The next ten years were spent in the service drive as a Service Advisor/Asst. Service Manager and the third decade was spent managing the parts departments of a couple different Sierra Vista Automobile dealerships. It was while managing one of these parts departments that Gary and Chelsea first worked together. The most recent assignment prior to joining Desert Automotive was as the Parts and Service Director of one the local dealerships. Over the years Gary has continuously achieved the top certification levels in both service and parts with several different manufacturers.
Gary, his wife Lisa, and both their sons are all graduates of Buena High School. During his time away from work he likes to spend time with his wife and family (when the boys are in town). On the weekend you may find Gary working in the yard, going to the bowling alley, golf course, races, casino or just hanging out with friends.
Gary is excited to be a part of the Desert Automotive Family where he can use his years of experience to take care of our customers.

Kenny Michael’s road to becoming an automobile technician started when he was about seven years old. His father was the owner of an auto body and mechanical repair shop in Chicago, Illinois. It was a family business with one of his brothers performing body work and another brother specializing in mechanical repairs. Kenny says he owes his father and brothers for the man he is today. Kenny leaned many ways to test and figure out problems from them at a young age that he still uses today. Kenny moved to Arizona in 1981 after deciding it was time to make some changes in his life. His sister was living in Sierra Vista at the time and Kenny thought he would give this area a shot. Kenny has been a resident of Arizona ever since. He has left this area a couple times living in Tucson and Prescott for short periods of time but has gravitated back to the Sierra Vista area. Prior to becoming part of the Desert Automotive team, Kenny worked thirteen years at a local family owned repair shop in town. Kenny now calls Desert Automotive home, he likes the fact that he has a clean, well run shop to work in and says the owners and his coworkers are the best of the best and he is proud to be here. Kenny vows to do his best to repair your vehicle the first time because the old saying is “You’re only as good as your last job” Something his dad told him many years ago. Over the years Kenny has had training for the repair of brakes, drivability concerns, engine repair, heating and air conditioning. Even though he finds the training invaluable, Kenny says there is nothing like hands on experience, that cannot be taught in a classroom. Kenny would like to invite you to come by and see us even if it’s just to say “Hi”. You will like what you see. And also would like to send out a personal “thank you” to our regular customers for their support.
